Sentencing circles will take place in Courtroom 908 and can only be scheduled for Tuesdays or Thursdays.
Counsel are advised to submit multiple potential dates for the sentencing circle that have been discussed with the sitting Justice, Defense Counsel, and Crown Attorney, and confirmed by the Trial Coordinator.
Sentencing circles hosted through ALS will be facilitated by Grandmother Dorothy Peters, ALS’ Traditional Teacher. Counsel is requested to ensure the client is aware of this. Should there be concerns with Dorothy Peters as the circle facilitator, please include them in the Additional Comments section.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the volume of requests received, submission of this form does not confirm ALS’ attendance at the sentencing circle. Our office will be in touch within seven days of receipt. If, for any reason, ALS is unable to facilitate a sentencing circle, one may still take place with external facilitation.
